"Everyone made us feel comfortable and secure. They were always very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We were amazed at how painless and fast the goals were reached. We are very pleased with the outcome and if ever needed, would do it again!"

"At his 2 month visit with the pediatrician, we were told that our son, Everett, had moderate to severe flattening of the back of his head.  Our pediatrician recommended more side and tummy time and a follow-up at 4 months.  At 4 months the problem hadn't improved and we were referred to Infinite Technologies. Everett was diagnosed with Brachycephaly. While I, as a first time mother, cried over my failure as a mother to raise a child with a perfectly shaped head, Everett's father took the logical position that if broken arms get casted, broken heads should be helmeted. I relented when I realized it was my duty as a parent to get help for my child.  Everett was manually casted and received his helmet at the age of 4 1/2 months.

We followed Joe's instructions and by the end of the first week Everett was wearing the helmet 22 1/2 hours per day.   A growth spurt during the first weeks of wear brought about noticeable results.  This growth spurt also helped keep the helmet in position because the back of Everett's head was so flat that the helmet slipped quite a bit at first, particularly when he was sleeping.  Although we got plenty of stares and comments, the five months Everett spent in the helmet produced visible results.  Additionally, as a family we spent quality time together in the tubby washing away "helmet hair" and getting Everett to actually coo when his head was rubbed during helmet breaks.

While we were pleased with the results it wasnt until several months later while watching a video of Everett's baptism at 2 months of age that the extent of Everett's condition prior to the helmet sunk in for us.  The change compared to the shape of Everett's head today is tremendous.  His head was so flat in the back and so pointy on top that he looked malformed.   As brand new parents we couldn't be objective - all we saw was our beautiful baby - and I was appalled at myself for ever considering NOT going for the helmet. Thank heavens for our pediatrician and Infinite Technologies."

"I was impressed by the technology, the thoroughness, and the amount of data used to complete the assessment.  We were glad to find Infinite Technologies because their analysis brought us peace of mind.  We were equally as impressed that they did not push their KidCap plagiocephaly treatment on us.  Ultimately, our son did not need a helmet, and we could not be more pleased with the service we received."

"Our son had torticollis, which led to his plagiocephaly.  His plagiocephaly was severe enough where it started to cause facial deformity (one eye noticeably larger than the other, ear and facial features on one side lower than the other, etc.).  We started physical therapy at 3 months, and saw a plastic surgeon (at the pediatrician's recommendation) for his opinion re: whether a helmet would be necessary.  It was a borderline case, so we stuck it out with PT for three months before finally deciding to get a helmet (at his physical therapist's suggestion since the plagio seemed to be impeding the PT's  correction of his torticollis (his skull was heavier on one side due to the plagiocephaly).

The plastic surgeon was quite adamant that we should AVOID Cranial Technologies, and recommended Infinite Technologies' [KidCap] as the medically better choice. (This opinion was echoed by physical therapists at Georgetown Hospital).  The surgeon explained that [KidCap] fittings are done by certified orthotists (as opposed to technicians at Cranial Tech), and the [KidCap] is a better device based on medical studies -- it's a harder plastic, so less likely to warp (hence, less chance of your having to pay for multiple helmets).  I also think the [KidCap] looks better -- it's clear plastic, so you an see your child's head (which is useful for checking for skin irritation, overheating, etc.), and from what I've read on various boards, it's less likely to get smelly because the plastic doesn't absorb odors the way the more foam-based ones sold by Cranial Tech do...

The folks at Infinite Technologies are friendly and very professional.  They didn't pressure us to get the helmet -- we saw them at 3 months to get measurements (at no cost to us), and at that point, they were the ones to suggest (echoing the surgeon) that we could afford to wait another 2-3 months to see if it would self correct.  They were wonderful to work with for the 3 months our son was in the helmet -- they squeezed us into the schedule whenever we had questions, and were very hands-on and attentive.  I highly recommend them!"
